Feature Wedding – Abigail & Jessie Skelly

Feature Wedding – Abigail & Jessie Skelly

On May 4 2013, Abigail and Jessie Skelly exchanged their vows in front of family and friends in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, followed by a reception on the amazing Sydney Glass Island. Here is a glimpse into their wedding day through the eyes of Abigail.

What style of wedding did you go for?

I wanted something down the lines of ‘simple elegance’. I love classy, unique, and rustic weddings… so when it came to my own day it felt right to have something that fitted in with our personalities. Because of this we chose more of a simple but elegant wedding that was unique to us and what we liked.

Tell us about your dress…

It was simply beautiful!

It had a beaded bodice, a sweetheart neckline with an embellishment around the waist and lace feathers coming from the bottom up. It sat perfectly on my body. I couldn’t have felt anymore comfortable than I did on my wedding day, and I only have the girls at Vision In White to thank for that!

What did the groomsmen wear?

We wanted a classy but modern look for the boys, each of the suits were specifically tailored to each of our groomsmen, in the colour of charcoal-grey.

And the bridesmaids?

They girls wore full length dresses in apricot (I love that colour!). It was very hard to find the right apricot colour I wanted so I was very relieved when I found the bridesmaid dresses in a store in North Sydney.

What flowers did you have in your bouquet?

Mainly white and apricot roses with some dusty miller around the edges.

What did you give as gifts to your guests?

We gave them little bride and groom candles.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

We went to Thailand, first Phuket and stayed at Panwa beach in the Raddisson Blue Resort, and then on to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai to visit our sponsor kids.

What were your top 3 moments during your wedding day?

– walking down the isle (so unbelievably amazing!)
– the joyous moments after the ceremony when you realise you are married and the photo shoot
– after all the formalities of the reception had finished as then we could just have fun and dancing with everyone. We had a ball!
