Feature Wedding – Anna & Fungai Mutsiwa

Normally it’s the bride that ‘takes everyone’s breath away’ but Anna was so enchanted by the sight of her soon-to-be husband, Fungai, at the end of the aisle that it was he who took her breath away.

Anna and Fungai exchanged their marriage vows in front of family and friends on August 29, 2014 in the historic grounds of Sydney’s Eschol Park House. link to venue’s website http://www.escholparkhouse.com.au/

Vibrant colours, beautiful surrounds and a whole lot of love created an amazing day for the bride and groom.

Here Anna tells us about their special wedding day.

Tell us about the wedding dress
I initially wanted a figure hugging elegant dress as I never liked the princess ball gown look.
Then my bridesmaids made me try on a princess ball gown dress for the sake of being able to say that I had at least tried it. To my shock, it looked really nice.

Vision in White helped me find a dress that gave me the best of both worlds. It was a mermaid beauty! The back of my dress was the main focus and I absolutely love how it turned out.

What did your bridesmaids wear?
My three bridesmaids wore beautiful deep indigo one shoulder dresses which fell to the floor.
The dress had a gorgeous silver badge detail on the hip, with a cheeky side split. The dresses were figure-hugging and suited them so well. They looked stunning.
What look did the groomsmen go for?
The groomsmen wore classic black suits with ties that matched the colour of my bridesmaids’ dresses. They scrubbed up nicely! My husband looked real slick too. I melted when I saw him.

What style of wedding did you go for?
To be honest, we didn’t really have a style. We had the ceremony and the reception at historic Eschol Park House. The ceremony was outside and the reception in a beautiful old ballroom.
The venue and the bridal party were the real eye-catchers of the day. We wanted to focus on that and not distract from it.

Tell us about the bridal bouquet?
I was a good bride and kept to budget. One of the ways I saved some money was to have silk flowers. The flower girl and I had matching dark and light blue hydrangeas. The bridesmaids had white hydrangeas that really popped in front of their indigo dresses.

No one knew the difference. They looked real, they’ve come up beautifully in the photos and now I get to keep them forever.
What gifts did you give to your guests?
I have a real sweet tooth so everyone was expecting something to do with chocolate and candy. I didn’t disappoint them. Every got ribbon-tied jars of M&Ms. Yum!

Where did you go for the honeymoon?
We had a relaxing week on Hamilton Island.

1. I’ll always remember seeing my husband smile at me, right before I walked down the aisle.
2. Dancing with my papa was amazing too. We had never danced together before and he was just too cute!
3. The end of the night was incredible. Right at the end as we were leaving, all our family and friends started chanting ‘Mutsiwa! Mutsiwa! Mutsiwa!’ That was epic
